As part of our commitment to spiritual formation in the four ares: Love God. Love Family. Love People. Love Life. we have committed ourselves to Loving Service.  Below is an overview of what Loving Service consists of at New Life Christian Community and opportunities that we invite you to participate in.

What is Missions and Outreach @ NLCC?

We define missions at NLCC in this way: Missions is connecting the church to the world. The world begins in our local communities and extends internationally throughout the continents.  Our goal for missions is to lovingly serve people by helping meet as many of the needs as possible for those we find ourselves in contact.  It is our desire to do the most good we can where we can while we can.

We define outreach at NLCC in this way: Outreach is connecting the world to the church. Once again the world begins in our local communities and extends internationally throughout the continents.  Our goal for outreach is to connect as many people as we can to the body of Christ and the Kingdom of God.  We believe the best way to connect people to the body of Christ is through loving service.  In this way we do not try to communicate how good we are but how GREAT God is!

Loving Service Both Individually and Corporately

We believe it is important to connect the body of Christ with opportunities for missions and outreach both individually and corporately.

We understand that people are in different stages of the life and some may have more resources available to commit to missions and outreach than others.  This is why we feel it is important to share with people individual opprotunities that God may be inviting them to participate in.  It is important that we understand that God can and will invite us into his work on an individual basis apart from the corporate body of believers.  We hope that we will be the kind of Christ followers that answer his invitations in our every day lives.  When we commit ourselves to individual acts of loving service it guards our hearts from self-centeredness.

As a body of believers that are covenanted together it is also important that we recognize when God is calling the corporate body of believers into action.  It is important to participate in missions and outreach with other believers not only because of the effect it will have on church unity but also because God can use the combined resources of people in the church to accomplish great and wonderful things.  When we commit ourselves to corporate acts of loving service it guards our hearts from church-centeredness.

Current Corporate Missions Opportunities

Relay for Life: Our Relay for Life team has been planning events and activities for raising funds for cancer research.  Contact Cory Mattson for information on how you can participate in Relay for Life, 715-755-3288 for more information.

Honduras Mission Church Support: New Life Christian Community has committed to supporting a church work in Honduras.  Through the above the line giving at New Life we send $200 per month to support the pastor and ministry of a congregation in Honduras.

Honduras Orphanage Drive:

This summer we will be collecting items for our Honduras Orphanage Drive.  Needed items include bedding (twin size sheets and blankets), clothes (warm/hot weather), shoes, school supplies, towels and washcloths, and personal hygiene products.  The orphanage supports children of all ages including many teens.  You may also contribute financially to offset the cost of shipping.
